New Server - MSSQL2

A new Windows server has been added to our H-Sphere cluster. The server hosts SQL Server 2005 databases.

Hostname: mssql2.royaltyservers.com

Resellers are required to submit the new Server Aliases by going to E. Manager >> Server Aliases.

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is now available to all new and existing customers subscribed to a Windows or Reseller plan. This version is intended to replace the current SQL 2000 offerings as it brings many new features to Microsoft's database engine.

ASP.NET 3.5 Launched!

ASP.NET 3.5 is now supported on all our Windows accounts as an addon to the ASP.NET 2.0 Framework. ASP.NET 1.1 will remain available on all accounts as well. The framework version can easily be changed using the control panel!

Linux and Windows Servers Maintenance

Affected services: All services will be interrupted during reboots.

H-Sphere 3.0 Patch 7 Upgrade

The H-Sphere control panel software will be upgraded to H-Sphere 3.0 Patch 7.

This upgrade introduces software improvements and bug fixes.

Maintenance date: November 27th, 2007
Maintenance window: 2:00 AM - 4:00 AM EST (GMT -5:00)
Duration: 30-45 minutes for the control panel only
Affected services: Control panel will be down during the upgrade process. All other services will require a restart which should take no more than 2-5 minutes.

MySQL 5.0 is now available to all new and existing clients at no extra charge! The new MySQL version is offered on all Linux, Windows and Reseller plans.

H-Sphere 3.0 Patch 1 Upgrade

The H-Sphere control panel software will be upgraded to H-Sphere 3.0 Patch 1.

This upgrade introduces many new Windows features, mainly:

Ability to switch between PHP4 and PHP5 on Windows accounts
Ability to switch between ASP.NET 1.1 and 2.0 on Windows accounts
Support for MySQL 5 which should be available soon on all account types

Win & MSSQL Reboot - Daylight Savings Patch

Windows Servers will be rebooted in order to apply the daylight savings patch released by Microsoft. This patch is necessary to allow the proper transition between Standard and Daylight time on March 11th, 2007
